Aussie local lifestyle guide The Urban List has announced the appointment of Damien Rossi (pictured) to the newly-created position of general manager.
Rossi joins The Urban List following a 12-year career with News Corp in the UK and Australia, where he specialised in growing audience, revenue and brand across platforms. Most recently, Rossi was GM of retail and marketing for News Corp in Queensland.
Rossi has also held executive and leadership positions in media, FMCG and professional services for a number of other businesses, including Guinness and Nestle.
Susannah George, founder and CEO of The Urban List, expressed her enthusiasm for the newly-created role and hire.
“Damien’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for The Urban List – a journey that, to date, has seen us build the largest Millennial audience of any local lifestyle guide,” she said.
“Damien’s experience and expertise rounds out our leadership bench strength and will further the opportunities for our customers, for our content and for our team; extending our lead in the local lifestyle category.”
Commenting on his new role, Rossi said: “The Urban List is a business I’ve watched for several years as both an envious competitor and engaged user.
“It’s a privilege to be charged with accelerating the growth and expansion of a company that, in five short years, has already established itself as a category leader, and I am committed to building on its reputation for exceptional content, customer solutions and culture.”
Rossi’s appointment is the first in a suite of planned executive and organisational changes at The Urban List, and follows the company’s expansion to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast in June.
