Network 10 has announced the appointment of Susan Young (featured image) as Sydney sport sales manager.

In this role, Young will be responsible for driving sport sales revenue in the Sydney market.

Young starts in the role on 15 July and will report to Network 10’s national sport sales director Nisar Malik.

Young’s appointment completes 10’s sport sales team which sits within the national sales team.

In addition to frontline sport sales specialists across all markets, the sport sales team also includes specialists in strategy, integration and digital.

Network 10’s national sales director Lisa Squillace said: “When sales was brought back in-house to 10, our objective was to build an experienced, platform-agnostic sales team.

“With a huge back half of sport live on 10, including unprecedented digital rights for the Rugby World Cup 2019 and 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival, it was also an important part of our strategy to develop a dedicated team of multi-skilled and multi-platform sport sales specialists.

“The appointment of Susan completes our sport sales structure. She will make a fantastic addition to the team.”

Nisar said: “We’re pumped to have Susan join the 10 Sport family.

“She is a seasoned sales professional with extensive broadcast and digital experience. I’m really looking forward to having her join the team and lead sports sales in Sydney.

“We’re focused on making sure our partners can ‘access all areas’ across 10’s ecosystem of brands and we’re ready to go!”

10’s second half sporting calendar kicks off with the Supercars in Townsville and then The Rugby Championships, including the Bledisloe Cup. From September, 10 will broadcast the big matches from the Rugby World Cup 2019, including all Wallabies matches, across all platforms.

The action continues with the Supercars in Bathurst, the Gold Coast, Sandown and Newcastle, and the Australian MotoGP.

In November, the 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival kicks off, packed with four days of horse racing on AAMI Victoria Derby Day, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Kennedy Oaks Day and Seppelt Wines Stakes Day.

Young has spent the last 14 years with Nine Entertainment Co., most recently as group business manager, where she was in the role for almost four years.

She also spent five years as one of the company’s Sydney trading managers.

Young said: “I’m so excited to be joining the 10 Sport sales team.

“They have a lot of momentum in market and are building something amazing.

“Rod, Lisa and Nis have a clear, innovative vision and I can’t wait to get into it and kick some serious goals.”
