NAB remains tight-lipped over Flik

The National Australia Bank is set to follow the Commonwealth Bank down the digital payments path having registered a website and a logo for NAB Flik, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald.

The Commonwealth Bank’s Kaching app was launched in July and is reported to have been downloaded more than a million times and processed more than $9 billion in transactions.

When contacted by B&T, NAB maintained it had no comment to make about the reports.

Easy digital payments represent the latest battleground for the banks’ battleground for the hearts and minds of Australia’s banking payments.

Promising payments from bumping phones through to SMSing money to a contact, CommBank’s Kaching is aimed at turning your mobile phone into a payment device reducing the need for ATMs or debit cards.
