‘Murdered’ Journalist Turns Up To Press Conference About His Death Alive

A Russian journalist who was reportedly killed in Kiev has shocked the world by fronting up to a press conference about his supposed murder alive and well.

Ukrainian authorities said war correspondent and critic of the Kremlin, Arkady Babchenko, was shot and killed in the country’s capital on Tuesday, but amazingly turned up to the media briefing the very next day.

It turns out that Ukrainian security services faked his death as part of an operation to thwart an attempt by Russian intelligence to murder him.

“I would like to apologise for what you have all had to go through,” Babchenko told the gobsmacked press.

“I’m sorry, but there was no other way of doing it. Separately, I want to apologise to my wife for the hell that she has been through.”

A video of Babchenko’s work colleagues at TV station ATR reacting to the news has been doing the media rounds since the announcement, which you can view below.
