Triple J, Radio National, and other ABC radio stations around the country experienced a horrendous broadcast malfunction this morning, as puzzled readers took to social media to air their confusion.
For an hour and a half, starting at around 6.30am, several ABC stations broadcast distorted, robotic-like audio, with many listeners confused as to what was causing the sound.
It’s being reported the audio distortion hit triple j, double j, Radio National, ABC classic, ABC Sydney and News Radio.
At around 8am triple j breakfast host Bryce Mills announced the issue appeared to finally be resolved, but not before listeners took to social media to discuss the cause of the issues, with one user blaming the ABC funding cuts, and another blaming Eggboy.

Every single ABC national station ( triple j, RN, NewsRadio ) has been broadcasting distorted, robotic audio for the last hour. This is the fault of Eggboy

Mills said: “Thank you for bearing with us. I don’t know how it was fixed, I wasn’t part of the solution, we just had to sit here and press buttons. We don’t know how it even started.”
