Monday TV Wrap: Nine Secures A Solid Nightly Win

The Nine Network was crowned winner of the night on Monday, as The Block continued to perform well.

The Block scored 852,000 viewers (as per OzTAM’s metro data), a decrease from Sunday’s million-viewer numbers but still the best in entertainment all the same. Nine also saw good numbers with Nine News (1,121,000 viewers) and A Current Affair (809,000).

On top overall was Seven News with 1,183,000 viewers, while 10’s Australian Survivor also had a strong night at 761,000. It was a fairly good night for 10’s entertainment in general, as Have You Been Paying Attention? nabbed 704,000.

Other programs of note included the second wind of Seven’s ABBA programming, with another doco: ABBA, New Beginnings. The dulcet tones of Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid brought in 511,000 viewers. Last week, the band released two new singles, in a boon for gay clubs and Mamma Mia! The Musical fans worldwide.

For the ABC, ABC News had 708,000 viewers, Australian Story had 621,000, 7.30 had 593,000, Media Watch had 484,000 and Four Corners had 470,000.

The rest of Seven’s night saw Home and Away score 617,000 viewers while The Chase had 576,00.

On Nine, Hot Seat had 490,000 viewers and Under Investigation had 414,000.

Finally on 10, The Project had 543,000 viewers and 10 News First had 365,000.

The Nine Network won the night overall with 29.2 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 25.2 per cent and Network 10 with 21.4 per cent. The ABC TV Network had 16.6 per cent and the SBS Network had 7.6 per cent.
