In riveting royal news, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new official Instagram account has become the fastest to gain one million followers, according to Guinness World Records.
The royal couple snared the coveted record from K-Pop star Kang Daniel, who stole it from Pope Francis.
The account reached the one million milestone in five hours and 45 minutes. At the time of publishing, the account has 3.6 million followers.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their independent Instagram account on Wednesday after the news they were going to form their own household separate from William and Kate, who also updated their own social media accounts to reflect the separation.
In their first post, the royal couple uploaded several images, including their joint monogram and other images of the duo in action around the world.
The post said: “Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues.
“We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”
