We’re really enjoying sharing the Women Leading Tech finalists with you as we count down to our revised date. This week we’re bringing you all the top designers. Enjoy!
As head of design at global software consultancy ThoughtWorks, Kate Linton leads a team of 24 designers across three Australian offices.
Here she works with her team to advise clients on how to best shape their customer experience and product strategy.
Additionally, she is also the creative director for ThoughtWorks’ global marketing design team, which involves guiding and mentoring a global team of 13 designers responsible for the delivery of ThoughtWorks campaigns and evolution of the visual identity.
Last year this included the design and implementation of the new Employer Branding for ThoughtWorks.
Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Kate is one of the organisers of Sydney’s Design Thinking Meetup.
With 7,000 members, the meetups occur monthly and offer a way for designers and entrepreneurs to share their experiences and help build a stronger community.
Last year ThoughtWorks held 10 of these meetups, which were facilitated by Kate.
She was also involved in bringing UX strategy expert Jared Spool to Australia in November 2019, during which time ThoughtWorks sponsored Spool’s UX Playbook workshops in Melbourne and Sydney.
Kate helped to also organise other speaking events for Jared including the Sydney Design Thinking meetup and the Melbourne “Mind the Product” meeting in November.
