A veteran marketer in the ICT industry, F5 head of marketing Jade Meara knows a thing or two about launching tech brands in the Australia and New Zealand market.
After joining F5 in December 2018, Meara was soon faced with her first important challenge as the company’s lead marketer.
The company acquired NGiNX in March and Shape Security followed in December.
These acquisitions meant expanding the breadth of marketing to all-new personas: LOB, DevOps, DevSecOps as well as traditional NetOps and Security personas, offering a true “code-to-customer” solution to their customers.
This was coupled with external challenges such as a slowing economy, a Federal and State election, as well as a Banking Royal Commission.
BFSI is the top vertical for F5, which meant Meara had to run hard and fast with laser-focused, tailored marketing campaigns to capitalise on the industry’s needs to address an ever-increasing cyber threat landscape, ageing infrastructure, the rise of neo banks and a looming Open Banking deadline.
She also tapped into existing F5 investments – such as the F5 Labs team – by running two F5 Labs tours in ANZ over her first year with the firm.
Meara is also passionate about equality in the workplace and is a volunteer Board Member of FitT (Females in IT and Telecommunications).
