MediaCom has appointed Katherine Williams to the role of managing director, Brisbane, succeeding former managing director Nicole Boyd who was recently promoted within the business to national managing director of client service.

Williams’ career in marketing and communications spans 15 years during which she has held a number of high profile roles in the private and public sector.

Williams joins MediaCom from the Queensland Government where she was director, communication services for the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. In this role, she led the delivery of a number of significant whole-of-government campaigns, and managed the daily operations of multi-disciplinary teams, including digital communication, graphic design, strategic communication and marketing, advertising management and media services.

Speaking about her new role, Williams commented, “Having worked with MediaCom for more than a decade, I’ve always had tremendous respect for the team and the work they do. I’m thrilled to accept the role of managing director for MediaCom Brisbane and can’t wait to be part of such a dynamic organisation.”

As managing director of MediaCom Brisbane, Williams’ responsibilities will include running the Brisbane office, managing the team, transforming the business in line with the national vision and managing relationships with clients and other agencies.

Sean Seamer, MediaCom Australasia CEO, said, “Katherine is the perfect fit for our business in Brisbane.

“Not only does she have an innate knowledge of the team having worked alongside them for such a long time, but she also brings with her a fresh perspective from her time client-side. I am personally delighted with the appointment and look forward to seeing her play a key role in the transformation of our overall offering.”

Seamer added, “We must also thank Nicole for all the years of passion and commitment she has given to the Brisbane business. We are very lucky to benefit from her influence more broadly now across markets as she drives best in class client servicing at a national level.”

Boyd said of Williams’ appointment, “Having worked with Katherine for over 11 years now, I’ve seen firsthand how passionate, vibrant and visionary she is in her approach. I am in no doubt that she is the right person to take over from me and move the strong performing Brisbane business to the next level, aligned with our national vision for MediaCom.”

Williams will join the business on 20 June and as part of the Australian leadership team, will report directly into Sean Seamer, chief eecutive officer of MediaCom Australasia.
