Willy Wonka’s Mike Teavee Appears As A Contestant On ‘Jeopardy!’

Eagle-eyed viewers of the American gameshow Jeopardy! on Wednesday night were quick to take to social media after none other than Willy Wonka’s Mike Teavee appeared as a contestant.

Well, more to the point the actor, Paris Themmen, who played the child character in the 1971 cult classic film Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory.

Themmen did not reveal to the show’s host, Alex Trebek, his acting past, describing himself as an “entrepreneur” and “avid backpacker” who’d visited 61 countries. Sadly, for Themmen he didn’t win the show either but did come an admirable second.

However, it was viewers of the show that discovered Themmen’s previous past as television-addicted child who gets shrunk by a mad factory owner.
