Wednesday TV Wrap: It’s All Laughs For The ABC, As Family Food Fight Struggles

The ABC’s Wednesday night of comedy again proved a triumph for the public broadcaster giving its more fancied free-to-air rivals a kicking last night.

In a relatively quiet night of viewing, Gruen (816,000), Hard Quiz (569,00) and Rosehaven (592,000) all did well for the ABC.

More worryingly for Nine, its new foodie show Family Food Night can’t seem to find an audience, managing a disappointing 509,000.

Seven won Wednesday with 27.3 per cent, then Nine with 26.7 per cent, ABC had 20.9 per cnet, Ten managed 16.8 per cent and SBS had 8.3 per cent.

Seven’s news was its best with 940,000, then Home and Away (666,000), First Dates (579,000),  The Chase (568,000) and The Grand Tour (352,000).

Nine’s night was led by its 6pm news (879,000), A Current Affair (712,000), Family Food Fight (509,000), Hot Seat (442,000) and the Bond movie Spectre (298,000).

The Project was Ten’s best with 557,000, while Madam Secretary returned to an awful 160,000.
