Wednesday TV Wrap: ABC’s ‘Hard Quiz’ Answers The Call, As 10 Has Night To Forget

The ABC’s Wednesday night comedy coupling of Hard Quiz (741,000) and Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (683,000) continued to confound their free to air rivals, once again the most watched entertainment shows of the night and the fifth and sixth most watched programs of the evening.

Meanwhile, 10 had a Wednesday evening to forget with not one of its programs in OzTAM’s top 20 for metro numbers.

Seven won Wednesday with 30.8 per cent of the audience share. Nine was second with 25.9 per cent, ABC snuck home for the bronze and 19.9 per cent, 10 had 15.9 per cent and SBS had 7.6 per cent.

Seven’s best was its 6pm news with 911,000, followed by Today Tonight with 888,000, Border Security: Australia’s Frontline had 642,000, Home And Away pulled 641,000, 9-1-1 enjoyed 548,000 and The Chase had 538,000.

Over at Nine, its best was its 6pm news with 844,000, followed by ACA with 671,000, Young Sheldon with 547,000 and The Big Bang Theory which had 448,000.

10’s best was The Project (422,000), followed by Jamie & the Nonnas (396,000), 10 News First (370,000), Blind Date (256,000), Pointless (228,000) and A Million Little Things (88,000).

It’s comedy couplings aside, the ABC did well with its 7pm news (679,000), 7:30 (663,000), Tomorrow Tonight (457,000), The Set (162,000), and Adam Hills: The Last Leg and Grand Designs (both 154,000).

For SBS, its best was Child Genius with 206,000.
