Wavemaker Bolsters APAC Leadership Team With Three New Hires

WPP-owned media, content and technology agency Wavemaker has strengthened its leadership team in the Asia-Pacific region with three new positions.

Gordon Domlija (pictured above) has been appointed regional president of Wavemaker across APAC, branching out from his position in China, where he heads up the agency’s largest and fastest-growing APAC market.

Domlija has successfully led Wavemaker in China during the past year, and will add the title of chairman for Wavemaker China to his remit and continue to directly support some key clients in China in addition to his regional responsibilities.

He also joins GroupM’s APAC executive committee. Wavemaker said a new leader for China will be appointed in due course.

Allison Coley, currently Wavemaker’s managing director of client solutions in Hong Kong, has been promoted to CEO for North Asia, which encompasses Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.

In their new roles, Coley and Huskey will expand their current responsibilities leading Wavemaker’s Hong Kong and Singapore hub for international client services by adding market duties.

They will report to Alex Altman, president for Wavemaker’s global client operations, for client solutions; and Domlija for markets. Both Coley and Huskey will also join the agency’s global executive committee.

In announcing the new appointments, Wavemaker’s global CEO, Tim Castree, said: “Our new APAC leadership team will help us to capitalise on our recent success across the region and support the connectivity between markets and global capabilities.

“Gordon is one of our most accomplished market leaders and I believe he is the perfect choice to help us to continued growth for our clients and agency in the region.”

GroupM’s APAC chief executive, Mark Patterson, added: “APAC is a high-growth region where market and customer behaviour is continuously disrupted.

“With Gordon in place as Wavemaker’s APAC leader, we’re well aligned to meet those challenges and secure the group’s position here.”
