US Cinema Chain Bans Star Wars Fans From Wearing Facepaint & Masks

Star Wars nerds awaiting the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be super disappointed if they attend an AMC and Cinemark cinemas, the companies have banned fans from wearing masks, faceprint or bringing lightsabers along at screenings.

A poster revealed how Cinemark, the third largest cinema chain in the US, requires “no face coverings, face paint, or simulated weapons (including lightsabers/blasters) will be allowed in the building.”

On its website, AMC cinemas will allow you to bring the Jedi weapon into their cinemas as long as it is turned off. “AMC does not permit weapons or items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience.

“Guests are welcome to come dressed in costume, but we do not permit masks. In short, bring your lightsaber, turn it off during the movie, and leave the blaster and Darth Vader mask at home.”

No word yet if Jar Jar Binks costumes have been banned.
