Twitter Outages Causes Mass Panic Forcing People To Actually Talk To One Another

Twitter went offline for many users on Tuesday across the globe on mobile and web; the outages didn’t affect Australia but outages were reported across Europe, UK, Middle East, Africa and North America.

Sparodic shutdown continued for six hours, making this one of the worst outages for Twitter in its 10- year history. Twitter said the widespread outages were caused by a glitch in a software update that affected the social network on computers and phones.

Users were met with the message: “Something is technically wrong”

In a statement Twitter said it had resolved the outages:The intermittent issue affecting some users between 00:40 to 06:50 PST has now been resolved. The issue was related to an internal code change. We reverted the change, which fixed the issue. Thank you for your patience.”

Overnight the hashtag #twitterdown was trending globally, which confused many people in Australia who were able to access Twitter.
