A sports presenter has suffered a heart attack live on-air after being fitted with a pacemaker only days earlier.

Şükrü Oytan was analysing a soccer match for a Turkish TV channel television channel when he suddenly slumped forward onto the news desk, before falling of his chair and onto the floor.

Co-host Guven Sabaz can be seen reacting to the scary situation by calmly calling for help ands abandoning the desk to help out Oytan.

It’s understood that Oytan had been fitted with a pacemaker just over a week before he suffered the heart attack. The presenter is reportedly recovering in hospital.

The TV channel said in a statement: “Our colleague Şükrü Oytan had a pacemaker placed due to arrhythmia ten days ago. Today during the program he felt bad and fainted.

“He was immediately taken to a hospital. The doctors reported that his state is stable. We express our best wishes to Oytan and his family.”
