Tuesday TV Wrap: Struggle Street & The ARIAs Struggle, As The Good Doctor Wins It For Seven

The ARIAs haven’t proven a ratings winner for the networks in recent years and last night’s annual music awards gong-a-thon proved no exception for host network Channel Nine, pulling a disappointing 515,000 viewers.

It was equally dismal news for SBS when its highly anticipated return of Struggle Street could only manage a lacklustre 304,000.

Seven’s Good Doctor was the star of the night, pulling 1.05 million viewers and giving the network a winning 32.2 per cent audience share. Nine was second with 26.1 per cent, Ten had 17.5 per cent, the ABC 16 per cent and SBS 8.2 per cent.

Seven’s night went thus: 6pm news bulletin 927,000, Home and Away (675,000), Instant Hotel (608,000), The Chase (555,000) and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (407,000).

For Nine it was: 6pm news bulletin 868,000, A Current Affair (722,000), ARIA Awards (515,000), Hot Seat (401,000) and Harry Styles: Live in Manchester (215,000).

Ten’s evening went: The Project (501,000), TEN Eyewitness News (465,000), Jamie’s Night Before Christmas (401,000), NCIS (359,000), NCIS: Los Angeles (343,000) and Family Feud(279,000).

For the ABC it was: 7pm news bulletin (728,000), 7:30 (601,000), Screen Time (389,000), Keeping Australia Safe (322,000) and Grand Designs (217,000).
