Wednesday TV Wrap: The Return Of Doctor Doctor Proves Just The Medicine For Nine

A 12 month absence from TV screens has done little to dampen viewers’ enthusiasm for Nine’s Doctor Doctor after its returning 2017 series debuted to 758,000 viewers last night.

That was just 1000 viewers shy of what the medical-drama-come-comedy debuted at in 2016.

The ABC’s night of comedy on Wednesday’s continues to do well with Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell the ninth most watched show of the night pulling in 732,000 viewers. Utopia managed 684,000 and Hard Quiz had 598,000.

For Ten, The Bachelor had a respectable 736,000 and although couldn’t beat Nine’s offerings it did pip rival Seven’s.

News aside, the best for Seven was The Force (664,000), Border Security (649,000) and The Chase (587,000).

Over at the SBS, its best was Inside Westminster that pulled in 218,000 viewers.
