Tuesday TV Wrap: Denton & ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Prove Viewers Still Crave Substance

The Voice (1.007 million) did the business again for Nine last night, but Andrew Denton’s Interview and Who Do You Think You Are? showed TV viewers aren’t solely addicted to reality shows.

Denton’s interview with veteran actor Michael Caine pulled 459,000 viewers for Seven, while Who Do You Think You Are? did 393,000 for SBS according to OzTAM metro numbers.

That said, Nine easily won Tuesday with 33.1 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven did 25.5 per cent, 10 had 18.5 per cent, the ABC did 13.8 per cent and SBS had a better night, posting 9.1 per cent.

Seven did well with its 6pm news (1.176 million), The Chase (659,000) and Home And Away (683,000). However, it’s debuting The Super Switch was disappointing, posting just 308,000.

For breakfast, Sunrise (278,000) ate Today (211,000).

10’s best was MasterChef (655,000), The Project (519,000), 10 News First (424,000) and Mr Black (319,000).

Nine’s 6pm news pulled a neat million, followed by ACA (837,000), The Big Bang Theory (638,000) and Hot Seat (594,000).

The ABC’s night went this way: 7pm news (665,000), 7.30 (501,000), The Recording Studio (265,000) and a repeat of David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef (214,000).
