Trump And Putin Merge In Creepy New Cover For Der Spiegel

German political magazine Der Spiegel’s hardly known for shying away from a bit of controversy and its latest cover proves another shining example.

The cover features the world’s two most powerful men – Russia’s president Vladimir Putin and US president Donald Trump – merged into one. The creepy image uses Putin’s face with Trump’s trademark willowy bouffant.

It comes with the cover line: “Der Doppelregent: wie viel putin steckt in Trump?” which translates to “How much of Putin is in Trump?”

Der Spiegel is hardly a fan of Trump and has used its editorial and covers to repeatedly attack the new president.

It’s latest cover is a clear dig at a cosier relationship between the US and Russia with suggestions some in the Trump team have business interests in Russia which may obscure their objectivity. Incoming attorney general Jeff Sessions is in trouble for allegedly lying under oath about his relationships with the country.

Trump himself has denied he has any relationship with the Russians but has been criticised for not speaking out more about Russian aggression towards its neighbours and in the ongoing war in Syria.
