Tourism NT Updates Social Media Handles As Part Of New Brand Positioning

Tourism NT is following up its latest ‘different in every sense’ brand positioning with a social media overhaul.

As of today, @NTaustralia will be the official Instagram handle of the Northern Territory.

Formerly known as @ausoutbacknt, the account has accumulated more than 270,000 followers since launching in 2013, and follows Tourism Northern Territory’s move to create greater consistency across its traveller touch points.

Along with the new handle, the Northern Territory’s Facebook account will change to Northern Territory Australia (@northernterritoryaustralia) and Twitter @NTaustralia, from today.

Featuring more than 5,000 unique pieces of content across the Northern Territory’s social media platforms, the accounts will continue to hero the Territory’s incredible locations, unique tourist attractions, and Australian culture, to local and international audiences.

Tourism NT updated its brand strategy just last week, departing from the longstanding ‘Do the NT’  in favour of ‘Different in every sense’.

The group said the change was to reflect the Northern Territory tourism products and services on an experiential level, not just the iconic landmarks and scenery.
