Tourism Australia Launches Campaign Focusing On Indigenous Australians

Tourism Australia have launched a campaign to attract travellers to unique Indigenous experiences across Australia.

The tourist body hopes the latest campaign, Aboriginal Australia: Our Country is waiting for you, will encourage domestic and international travellers to add Indigenous tourism experiences to their trip Down Under.

Tourism Australia’s managing director John O’Sullivan said: “Currently, 14 per cent of our international visitors participate in an Aboriginal cultural experience during their trip, helping to inject $6.4 billion annually into our visitor economy.

“We’re confident this new short film, and our plans to make sure it is widely distributed both in Australia and overseas, will help promote this important facet of Australian tourism and grow these figures.”

The film was directed by Aussie filmmakers Brendan Fletcher and Warwick Thornton (Mad Bastards, Samson and Delilah and The Sapphires), and was developed in partnership with Australian Trade Commission Austrade.

The film will be running in TVCs and online in Australia, as well as a number of Tourism Australia’s key international markets: China, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, the UK and the USA.
