Today’s Tim Gilbert Finds New Home At Sky Racing
Former Today Show host Tim Gilbert has resurfaced at Sky Racing, working alongside former newspaper editor Peter Gleeson as host of Sky News Live’s new Saturday morning program Racing Dreams.
Premiering Saturday 9 February at 10am AEDT, Racing Dreams with Peter Gleeson and Tim Gilbert follows the exciting and emotional journey of thoroughbred horse ownership through the eyes of the people living their dream, providing an insider’s look into the world of syndicates and racing.
The 12-part one-hour weekly program will document the rollercoaster ride of an industry full of passion, triumph and volatility.
Following his recent departure from the Today Show, Tim Gilbert, well-known sports reporter, commentator and producer, will join Peter Gleeson each week reporting trackside.
After working with the Nine Network for 23 years, Tim brings his wealth of sporting knowledge and passion to the Racing Dreams team.
Tim will speak to industry movers and shakers, take audiences into the country’s top stables and onto the best courses, providing unprecedented access.
Tim Gilbert said: “What a great way for me personally to launch into this next chapter of my career. There are few sports that offer the range of back stories that horse racing does, dreams can be dashed but when they come true on the track it’s magic”.
Sky News anchor Peter Gleeson said: “I love racing and when you see the emotion of racehorse ownership, you will understand why this show is a must-watch.
“This is about capturing the special moments and camaraderie of the racing industry.
“I am excited to be a part of the new program at Sky News and working alongside Tim Gilbert.
“It will be a great ride for viewers”.
Sky News Chief Executive Paul Whittaker said: “Racing Dreams is an exciting addition to our Saturday morning line-up, giving our viewers a rare insight into the unpredictable world of racing.
“Each week the program will follow the hopes, setbacks and triumphs of a group of thoroughbred horse owners as they experience the agony and the ecstasy of the sport of kings.
“It’s fantastic to have Tim Gilbert join the Racing Dreams team at Sky News, providing audiences with unique sporting insights”.
