Time Magazine Unveils List Of 100 Greatest Photos Of All Time

Time Magazine has unveiled its list of the 100 most influential photographs of all time.

Sadly, no Aussies made the final 100, although the famous Black Power salute at the 1968 Olympics (below) with Aussie Peter Norman was in there.

The final 100 is an interesting mix of war, terror, celebrity and humour. Most of the images are now iconic and most were taken last century. You can check out the full list here.

Time’s editors drew up the list based on the opinions of a number of experts in their field – world famous photographers, historians and photo editors. Many of the images have gone down in the annals of history, but there’s still some little known ones in there too. Take the image below of a new born baby. It was taken by Californian software engineer Philippe Kahn and is a blurry pic of his new daughter. It was taken in 1997, after Kahn crudely rigged a small camera to his mobile phone. It’s the first photograph ever taken by a mobile phone in history.
