Thursday TV Wrap: Seven Soars On The Footy, As Googlebox Gives 10 A Kick

It was all about the footy on the telly last night and the Collingwood-Richmond match definitely proved a winner for Seven (not so Richmond, who went down by 44 points).

The match peaked at 627,000 according to overnight OzTAM metro numbers.

Meanwhile, Nine’s NRL coverage of the Dragons-Broncos game had 456,000.

Seven blitzed the field with 35.4 audience share. Nine had 24.8 per cent and 10 managed third with 17.4 per cent. That left the ABC with 14.8 per cent and SBS with 7.6 per cent.

Seven’s efforts were also helped by its 6pm news – the most watched show of the evening – with 853,000. Home And Away was way down with just 383,000. The Chase pulled 338,000 and A Better Homes And Gardens Special blossomed to 331,000.

10’s standout was Gobblebox which pulled 584,000, although has suffered a drop since the start of the footy seasons. 10 News First had 372,000, The Project had an off night with 355,000, Show Me the Movie! had 307,000) and Hughesy We Have a Problem was problematic with just 249,000.

Nine’s highlights were its 6pm news (803,000), ACA (478,000) and Hot Seat (456,000).

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (596,000), 7.30 (517,000) and How To Sell A Massacre (458,000).

Over at the SBS, its best were Project Blue Book (207,000) and Great British Royal Ships (183,000).
