Thursday TV Wrap: Seven Romps It Home With A Whopping 42.5% Share

It was Seven first and daylight second in last night’s TV ratings, as an MKR/Olympics double-blow gave the network a record 42.5 per cent share.

MKR returned to the winner’s circle, and was the most watched show of the evening with 947,000 viewers. While, at its peak, the Winter Games had an impressive 891,000 viewers.

However, it has to be said it wasn’t up against Nine’s heavy-hitter, Married At First Sight which was cooling its bed sheets last night.

Such was Seven’s success it doubled Nine’s share, the network managing only 20 per cent audience share. Ten wasn’t far off with 18 per cent, ABC pulled 14.6 per cent and the SBS managed just five per cent.

The return of Gogglebox gave some hope to Ten, managing 649,000 on its debut. While I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! stemmed its spiral with 581,000. However, there was cause for concern for The Project that pulled a miserly 396.000.

Over at Nine, the return of RBT could only muster 471,000.

For the ABC, its night when thus: 7pm (681,000), 7:30 (538,000), Call the Midwife (458,000), Q&A special (459,000), Sammy J (257,000), Would I Lie to You? (171,000) and Think Tank (129,000).

The trains were running on time for SBS, with Great British Railway Journeys jagging 209,000.
