Them Advertising Gets A Piece Of Indigenous History

AFL veteran Gavin Wanganeen has revealed his hidden artistic talents for the lucky folks at Them Advertising.

He might be best known for his skills on the footy field, but former AFL star Gavin Wanganeen has revealed a new artistic side. And one of the first places to showcase his newfound talent is former Adelaide workplace Them Advertising.

Inspired by his Indigenous heritage, Wanganeen has created a series of ten “Shooting Stars” dot paintings based on his experience living in the Yorke Peninsula where his monther’s family originated from.

Today he dropped in to Them Advertising to hand deliver one of his unique paintings to former boss, and current managing director, Mark Wightman.

As a former Port Adelaide Football Club board member, Wightman is thrilled to be one of the few recipients of Wanganeen’s one-of-a-kind artworks.

“This special painting will hang with pride in our media boardroom. I’m positive Gav’s talent as an artist will soon be recognised at a very high level in the near future,” said Wightman.

The enthusiasm for Wanganeen’s very personal expression shown by the team at Them Advertising echoes the strong notion of Indigenous support that is resonating across the nation today.
