The Cannes Winners Who Leveraged TV And Movies In Their Campaigns

The 2015 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity showcased the best of the best offerings in the advertising space globally.

Some 14 Lions went to campaigns that in one way or another used TV shows and movies, and a further 13 were shortlisted. A range of techniques were used including usage of existing footage and stills, character likeness and thematic elements.

Agencies featured familiar characters in popular TV and movies like: Pingu, Shrek, Avatar, The Hobbit, How to Train a Dragon,Peanuts, Garfield, Adventure Time, Hello Kitty, Popeye, Mr. Potato Head, Rio, My Little Pony, Brady Bunch, Life of Pi, Fargo, Ghostbusters and The Looney Tunes.
