Studio 10 Plucks Reporter & Comedic To Replace Rowe & Buttrose

Network Ten has announced who will be replacing Jessica Rowe and Ita Buttrose on the channel’s Studio 10 program.

Staying in the family, the network tapped Ten’s entertainment reporter Angela Bishop to join the Studio 10 team.

As well as Bishop, Australian actress and comedian Denise Scott will also have a seat on the panel.

Speaking on the move, Bishop said: “I am so excited to join this amazing team.”

“I love the idea of mixing the unpredictability of live television with my entertainment reporting from red carpets and hotel rooms around the world. I can’t wait to start.”

Scott added: “I’ve always wanted to host a morning television show and now it’s happening at 63.”

“As I always say kids, hang on to your dreams! If it doesn’t happen in your 20s, it’ll happen in your 60s.”

Jessica Rowe, the outgoing host of Studio 10, announced she would be quitting her role live on air to focus on her family in March.

Rowe has been the co-host of Studio 10 since its launch in 2013, and is the wife of Nine news presenter Peter Overton.

“It’s been a very hard thing to do, but it’s because my family need me,” she said.

“As I said, it’s been difficult, but I want to be a more present mum for my girls… they need their mum, and I want to be there in the mornings for them, I want to take them to school, do canteen duty.”

Meanwhile, Ita Buttrose’s departure was announced by the network earlier this week.

Buttrose said: “I have had a long involvement with Network Ten, stretching back many years. I’ve had five great years on Studio 10, but it is time for me to move on and focus on other parts of my life, including spending more time with my grandchildren and writing.”
