Sunday TV Wrap: Penultimate MAFS Soars To A Mind-Boggling 1.85 Million Viewers

Last night’s penultimate MAFS may have descended into near anarchy but, as expected, Aussie viewers lapped it up in their droves.

A massive 1.858 million (OzTAM metro viewers) watched the episode that included shouting matches, drinks being poured over people’s heads and even claims of death threats!

All this was music to Nine’s managements ears though, the network pulling a staggering 45.5 per cent audience share for a Sunday.

Seven was a distant second with 25.8 per cent. The ABC had 14.2 per cent and 10 had to settle for single digits and a mere 8.9 per cent. SBS took home 5.6 per cent.

So how did MKR fare in the whole MAFS’ onslaught? It managed a not-too-bad-considering 784,000.

MAFS also gave Nine’s 6pm news a halo effect. It beat rival Seven’s version 1.104 million to 1.096 million, respectively.

60 Minutes also topped the mill-mark with 1.083 million and utterly trounced Seven’s Sunday Night that managed just 400,000.

Seven’s AFL coverage pulled 381,000 to Nine’s NRL that had 316,000.

10 had a night to forget, its top performers were The Sunday Project (262,000), 10 News First (239,000), Hughesy We Have A Problem (198,000) and Chris And Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway (161,000).

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (634,000), Restoration Australia (498,000) and The Melbourne Comedy Festival (308,000). Sunday morning’s Insiders did 290,000.

SBS’ best was Secrets Of The Bermuda Triangle with 180,000.
