Sunday TV Wrap: Lego Goes The Jugular, But ABC Proves The Night’s Surprise Packet

Lego Masters was back and doing the business for Nine last night, pulling 1.091 million viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers.

That meant a tough night for MasterChef. It could only muster 638,000.

And if you weren’t interested in Lego or amateur cookery then home renovations was the place to be. Seven’s House Rules having its best night of the year with 684,000.

Still, the surprise of the night was the ABC’s Vera that did an impressive 735,000 and beat its more fancied commercial rivals. The ABC’s 7pm news also had 708,000 and Agatha Christie’s ABC Murders did 602,000 and capped off a top night for Aunty.

Nine won Sunday with 29.9 per cent audience share. Seven took a neat 27 per cent, the ABC had 20 per cent, 10 did 15.9 per cent and SBS had 7.3 per cent.

Other highlights for Nine included its 6pm news (1.06 million), 60 Minutes (586,000) and its NRL coverage of the Parra-Dragons game (302,000).

Seven’s 6pm news as the most watched show of the evening with 1.095 million. Seven also did well with Sunday Night (434,000) and its AFL coverage (538,000).

MasterChef aside, 10’s night ran this way: The Sunday Project (420,000), Hughesy We Have A Problem (311,000) and 10 News First (221,000).

Best for SBS was David Baddiel On The Silk Road that pulled 152,000.
