Sunday TV Wrap: The Block First, Daylight Second As Viewers Mysteriously Disappear On Quiet Night

Nine’s The Block was the commanding victor in last night’s telly battle as Seven and 10 rested its heavyweight programs while viewers apparently found something else to do.

The reno show pulled an impressive 1.097 million last night sans any major competition, making it the most watched show of the night.

Seven’s best non-news show was Border Security – Australia’s Front (361,000), while 10’s was NCIS (305,000).

Nine easily won Sunday with 34.5 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven had 24.1 per cent, while 10 hung on for third and 15.6 per cent. The ABC wasn’t far away and 15.3 per cent and SBS boasted rare double-figures with 10.3 per cent on the back of a repeats of Jumbo Jet: 50 Years In The Sky (233,000) and Great Continental Railway Journeys (194,000).

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (840,000) beat Nine (790,000). Meanwhile, 60 Minutes (533,000) knocked over the soon-to-be-no-longer Sunday Night (398,000).

10’s Sunday Project had 363,000 and The Graham Norton Show did 345,000.

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (598,000), Total Control (446,000) and Grand Designs: The Street (435,000).
