Sunday TV Wrap: The Block & Ashes Combo Hands Nine A Whopping Win

The Block returned to 991,000 viewers last night and looks like it’s lost none of its lustre in its now 14th season.

Nine also did well with the The Ashes on 9Gem, with 566,000 cricket fans tuning in for the first session according to OzTAM metro numbers. That fell to 429,000 for the second session and 399,000 for the last.

Unsurprisingly, Nine had an easy Sunday night win snaring 39.3 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Seven did 25.6 per cent, 10 had 15 per cent, the ABC pulled 14.7 per cent and SBS did 5.4 per cent.

In the battle for the entertainment shows, Australia’s Got Talent pulled 819,000 to Survivor’s 630,000.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most watched show of Sunday with 1.059 million. While Sunday Night (559,000) got beat by 60 Minutes (673,000).

In the footy codes, Seven’s AFL had 351,000 to the NRL’s 269,000.

Over at 10, The Sunday Project pulled 350,000 and 10 News First had 272,000.

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (642,000), Les Norton (525,000) and The Planets (489,000).

SBS’ best was a repeat of Who Do You Think You Are? with 136,000.
