Suncorp Places Media Account Under Review

Financial services group Suncorp is undertaking a review of its media account, putting incumbent agency Starcom on notice.

Suncorp’s executive general manager of brand and marketing, Mim Haysom, confirmed to B&T that the group was reviewing its media arrangements, but won’t be in a position to share an update until later in the year while the tender process plays out.

B&T understands that Starcom currently handles the account.

Suncorp recently implemented a masterbrand strategy which brings together the group’s network of brands, including AAMI, Bingle, GIO and Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency (APIA).

As a result, the group cut ties with DDB Melbourne in August after reviewing its creative agency roster and finding that its new strategy conflicted with DDB’s rival banking client, Westpac.
