Spotify & Uber Team Up To Offer Riders Personalised In Car Music

Spotify and Uber are teaming up to create the ultimate personalised soundtrack for users.

Uber connects riders with transportation on-demand, wherever and whenever they choose. Spotify brings listeners the right music for every moment. The partnership of the two brands sees Uber and Spotify Premium users able to personalise their Uber ride by playing their favourite Spotify music right through the car speakers.

Users simply need to connect their Spotify account via the Uber app, request a ride, and when they get matched up with a Spotify-enabled Uber, simply select music from any one of Uber’s featured playlists or one of their own Spotify playlists within the Uber app. When the ride arrives, the user’s tunes will be playing on the speakers. Once in car, it’s also possible to change what’s playing during the journey through the Spotify and Uber mobile apps.

To kick off the partnership, Spotify and Uber are giving fans a chance to connect with some of their favourite artists in 10 global launch cities including Sydney. Participating artists include: Andrew W.K., The Sam Willows, Ximena Sariñana, Ansiktet, Professor Green, Diplo, Matt and Kim, Ricki Lee, Kevin Drew and Jake Owen.

These special events for Uber and Spotify users – including artist ride-alongs and exclusive live sessions – will take place on Friday, November 21.

The new Uber and Spotify integration, available to all Uber and Spotify Premium users on iOS (and Android with a limited feature set), starts rolling out on Friday 21 November.
