Social Media Tears Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins Apart

Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins’ season of The Bachelor has wrapped, though Australia’s venomous hatred for the former Wallabies star is just warming up.

Last night’s finale saw – for the first time in Bachelor history – Cummins finishing with no one, telling finalists Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley he “wasn’t ready for a relationship”.

Cue the social media fury.

Australian viewers were having none of Cummins’ final decision, with memes, statuses and general shade thrown at the Bachie immediately after he told Hockley he was “sorry”.

Already, social media users are calling Cummins’ the most hated man in Australia, with many encouraging season two’s Bachelor, Blake Garvey, to “resurface” following his epic finale blunder in 2014.

Following his indecision, Cummins’ said to camera: “I hate hurting people and I have done that twice today. I just know in my heart that I did the right thing. There are two amazing women walking out of my life right now. It wouldn’t be fair to enter into something that a few months down the track I would be breaking her heart.”

“I came here for a chance at love and now I’m going to have to start again. She’s out there!”

Overall, the mood on social media following last night’s ending was bitter.

Even the Twitter famous Queensland Police joined in on the fun:

Despite the anger, there was also a whole lot of love for Hockley and Tieman’s final conversation and support for one another.
