Sideline Reporter Gets Poleaxed During Football Game, Player Then Asks Her Out On A Date

A reporter covering an American college football game from the sidelines got a little too close to the action when she got caught up in a vicious tackle between two opposing players.

ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge was speaking straight to camera when two players came barrelling towards her, sending her flying.

Thankfully, Rutledge was unscathed from the incident and sent out a tweet thanking everyone for their assistance.

One of the players involved in the tackle, University of Georgia’s Prather Hudson, also apologised for the incident in a tweet, but went further asking Rutledge on a date, too.

Sadly, the married Rutledge declined the offer.
