Roseanne Barr Claims She’s Fielding A Number Of Offers For A New TV Show

Comic and (former) TV star Roseanne Barr has revealed she’s had other job offers since being fired from Roseanne in May following a racist tweet that compared former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to a monkey.

“Inside every bad thing is a good thing waiting to happen and I feel very excited because I’ve already been offered so many things,” she said in her second podcast appearance in as many weeks. “I’ve almost accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it.”

Yet, what exactly the “really good offer” looks like is yet to be fully expanded upon, while none of the networks have added any validity to her claims.

The 65-year-old said she also had no qualms about the new spin-off of Roseanne to be called The Connors and admitted she’d agreed to forgo any monies she stood to have earned from copyright agreements with the original.

“I didn’t ask to be paid off,” she said. “I asked for nothing and I just stepped away because that is penance.”

Following her racist tweet back in May, Barr eventually used the social platform to offer a full apology. “I deeply regret my comments from late last night on Twitter,” she wrote.

“Above all, I want to apologise to Valerie Jarrett, as well as to ABC and the cast and crew of the Roseanne show. I am sorry for making a thoughtless joke that does not reflect my values – I love all people and am very sorry.

“Today my words caused hundreds of hardworking people to lose their jobs. I also sincerely apologise to the audience that has embraced my work for decades. I apologise from the bottom of my heart and hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.”
