Queenstown Airport Corporation Launches Latest Work ‘Why Do We Fly’ Via Shotover Media

Shotover Media launched their latest work for Queenstown Airport Corporation with a film introducing the stories of aviation, and the wider community in the stunning scenery of Queenstown, Wanaka and the greater Southern Lakes region.

Shotover Media developed creative ideas with storytelling craft and cinematic skill at heart, inviting the audience to meet the airport’s people.

A docs-series, ‘Why Do We Fly?’ will follow, also produced by Shotover Media.

These stories will champion pioneers past and present and encourage people to dream of the future, while celebrating the diversity of the airport’s’ communities and the region they’re lucky enough to call home.

Shotover Media director, James Perry said: “We’ve been working closely with the aviation community in Queenstown and Wanaka for a number of years now so we knew there was an incredible depth of character to the industry.

“The Why Do We Fly project is definitely a huge challenge in its scale but having the chance to share these stories with the world is a great opportunity and something we’re extremely proud to be a part of.”

Shotover Media director, Pete Whittaker added: “We knew early on that to demonstrate the romance of aviation we needed to be up in air.

“And shooting with a Shotover Camera System over the Mount Aspiring National Park during one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen was a career highlight for me.”
