Is Publicis’ Nick Law Set To Quit Adland For Apple?

Publicis Groupe chief creative officer Nick Law is set to depart the French network after less than 18 months in the role, according to media speculation out of the US.

According to industry sources familiar with the matter, Australian expat Law is moving into an undefined role at Apple.

B&T reached out to Law and Publicis Groupe for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publishing.

Law, who was named Marketer of the year at Cannes International Festival of Creativity last week, joined the holding company less than 18 months ago in January 2018, following 17 years at R/GA.

At the time, a statement from Publicis said Law had been tasked “to take the Groupe’s creative performance to the next level” and will “develop a unified creative ethos” across the group’s full spectrum of creative agencies that include Leo Burnett, Saatchi and Saatchi, Publicis Worldwide and Marcel.

Law’s departure follows the appointment of Liz Taylor as creative lead for Publicis Communications North America and CCO of Leo Burnett Worldwide.

Taylor was poached by Law from FCB Chicago where she served as chief creative officer and helped win important new clients such as GE, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kimberly Clark.

Starting 8 July, she will sit at the agency’s Chicago headquarters leading the creative direction of the global agency network.
