Pacific Appoints Elissa Ratliff As Head Of Audio

Pacific Magazines has appointed Elissa Ratliff as its news head of audio.

Ratliff will oversee the production of Pacific’s rapidly-expanding podcast suite including The Daily Home Edit, Men’s Health Strength Sessions and Better Homes and Gardens Garden Better.

Ratliff, a seasoned podcast producer with extensive experience in creating popular and award-winning podcasts from conception to release, joins the publisher from Mamamia where she was the managing producer of podcasts.

She has worked on numerous podcasts including No Filter with Mia Freedman, which was recognised by the Apple Podcasts best of 2018 chart.

Reporting to Pacific’s group content and brand director, Louisa Hatfield, Ratliff will drive audiences, content and commercial relationships while overseeing the production of more than 19 podcasts and working with the commercial team to identify opportunities for sponsorship.

Hatfield said: “We’re on track to become the leading women’s podcast network in Australia and have been looking for someone to help lead the charge.

“Elissa has a proven and impressive track record launching and managing highly successful podcasts at Mamamia. Her extensive experience in creating popular and award-winning audio products is unbeatable and we’re chuffed she has come on board.”

Ratliff said: “I’m thrilled to join Pacific and take on this exciting role. I’m impressed and excited by the breadth of podcast output and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Pacific currently has 19 podcasts in production in addition to six commissionable products. Podcasts include The Daily Home Edit, Better Homes and Gardens Garden Better, That’s Life! How I Survived, New Idea Royals, Girlfriend’s Beauty Boss, Men’s Health Strength Sessions and Women’s Health Uninterrupted.

In July, Pacific forged a partnership with the world’s largest podcasting platform, Acast, and added eight podcasts to its slate further accelerating the commitment to the audio platform.
