Nutrition Comms Firm Appetite Appoints Dr Michelle Celander As Account Director

Sydney-based nutrition communications consultancy, Appetite Communications has recently expanded and strengthened its team with the appointment of Dr. Michelle Celander as senior account director – nutrition.

Michelle joins Appetite Communications following three years with Kellogg as head of nutrition and regulatory affairs, and prior to that spent two and a half years as senior nutrition science manager for the Asia Pacific region, also at Kellogg.

She will work across Appetite’s client portfolio including Coca Cola South Pacific, Cereal Partners Worldwide, McDonald’s, The a2 Milk Company, Woolworths and Australian Sugar Industry Alliance providing senior nutrition counsel.

Celander said she is excited about moving to the agency having spent her career working client-side in large multi-national food companies.

“Appetite Communications is a very unique business and a clear leader in the nutrition communications space, with a reputation for professional, credible work. One of its strengths is translating science into engaging communications and campaigns which is a passion of mine, so there are great synergies between my background and experience and Appetite’s vision,” said Celander.

“I am excited about joining a small, dynamic and nimble team and look forward to contributing to some great upcoming projects.”

The agency has recently been re-appointed by Cereal Partners Worldwide for projects in 2017 following successful campaigns this year, and has also commenced working with Maggi on a stakeholder relations project.

Agency founder and director, Andrea Mortensen said 2016 is shaping up to be a busy year for the business.

“Accountability, integrity and excellence are at the heart of everything we do at Appetite, and Michelle embodies all of these values so I am delighted to welcome her to our growing team. We are now in our fifth year of business and our specialist nutrition communications services are in more demand than ever,” she said.
