Newspaper Of The Year Winners Announced

Newspaper Of The Year Winners Announced

The Newspaper Works announced the winners of the 2014 Newspaper of the Year awards in Sydney last night.

More than 1,000 entries were submitted to this year’s awards, known as the PANPAs, which cover newspapers, photography, advertising, marketing, environment and print and production. The awards were sponsored by Norske Skog.

A change of criteria for the Newspaper of the Year awards has placed greater emphasis on the quality of journalism, digital execution and the ability to record a growing audience.

The Newspaper Works CEO Mark Hollands said: “Newspapers from all over the Asia Pacific set an extremely high standard in their submissions and left our judges locked in debate over the major Newspaper of the Year winner.

“We have some of the best newspapers in the world and the Newspaper of the Year awards continue to attract great support despite the increasing commercial pressures on the industry and, therefore, newspaper colleagues. I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to enter, and in doing so, contributed to the sense of community of our industry.”
