Network 10 Releases Its First 10 Speaks Podcast

Network 10 has today released its first 10 Speaks podcast, The Professor and The Hack.

Hosted by 10’s network political editor Peter Van Onselen and national affairs editor Hugh Riminton, The Professor and The Hack is a weekly show unpacking what’s happening in Australian politics for the average Australian.

Riminton said: “The Professor and The Hack is just PVO and me doing what we do anyway – banging on about politics, what’s going on under the surface and what the hell it’s all about.

“He’s the Prof and I’m just the Hack with lots of questions.

“Millions are going to listen to this podcast and we’ll all get rich.

“That’s the plan.”

Network 10’s CEO Paul Anderson said: “We’re really excited to be launching 10 Speaks with such a fantastic podcast, particularly in the lead-up to the federal election.

“When it comes to politics, Peter and Hugh are world-class and their banter, insights and take on the world is unique, accessible and relatable.

“I may be biased of course, but I’d highly recommend the first episode to those who enjoy good ol’ political banter.”

The launch of 10 Speaks follows the launch of 10 All Access in December as another avenue 10 can engage its under 50s audience with premium content whenever, wherever and however they want.

Anderson continued: “10 is home to some of the noisiest content and some of Australia’s best talent and commentators.

“It makes sense for us to extend the great content we have into the booming podcasting area.

“We can’t wait to share more of what’s to come.

“Watch this space.”

10 Speaks is powered by Acast and will feature original and show-adjacent content from 10 talent.

As the hosting and distributing partner, Acast will deliver the technical infrastructure and work with 10 on the widest range of podcast advertising solutions to 10 Speaks.

Acast’s content director, Guy Scott-Wilson said: “Podcasting in Australia has moved far beyond its infancy, with listener numbers continuing to grow year on year.

“It’s exciting to see iconic Aussie media companies like Network 10 entering the podcasting space.

“We’re delighted to partner with Network 10 on 10 Speaks, helping them usher in a new era of on-demand audio content.”
