MTV Australia Quickly Deletes Casually Racist Golden Globes Tweet

MTV Australia has apparently forgotten that the internet is forever, during the 2016 Golden Globes ceremony the MTV Australia Twitter page asked for “English subtitles” during Latina actresses Eva Longoria and America Ferrera presentation. Understandably Twitter wasn’t impressed.

During their presentation, MTV Australia tweeted this:

mtvaustralia The MTV account quickly removed the tweet after people accused it of casual racism. Twitter pointed out the actresses were making fun about their similar looks not their accents, a difference which the MTV account forgot.
