Monday TV Wrap: Alan In Salmon Gives Q&A A Huge Boost

The ABC’s waffle-a-thon, Q&A, soared to its best numbers of the year last night as viewers tuned-in for some more post-election dissection.

Ably led by a beaming Alan Jones who continued to revel in Labor’s election defeat, the talkfest pulled 520,000 viewers according to OzTam metro numbers.

On the back of that, the ABC managed 19.4 per cent of last night’s eyeballs.

The Voice (963,000) gave Nine the win with 28.7 per cent. Seven was second with 26.4 per cent, 10 was fourth with 18.2 per cent and SBS took home 7.3 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm was the most watched show of the night with 1.16 million. Other standouts for Seven were Home And Away (727,000), House Rules (668,000), The Chase (633,000) and 9-1-1 (416,000).

Nine’s news did 988,000, ACA had 820,000, Hot Seat pulled 549,000 and The Elvis All Star Tribute Special had 382,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (277,000) toasted Today (202,000).

10’s night ran thus: Have You Been Paying Attention? (673,000), MasterChef (600,000), The Project (486,000) and 10 News First (419,000).

The ABC’s Monday of news and current affairs did this: 7pm news (786,000), 7.30 (671,000), Australian Story (619,000), Media Watch (527,000), Q&A (520,000) and Four Corners (517,000).

Best for SBS was Medicine Or Myth? that posted a respectable 330,000.
