Monday TV Wrap: Karl’s Returning ‘This Time Next Year’ Did Better Last Year

Karl Stefanovic’s triumphant return to TV screens last night saw his returning This Time Next Year pull a reasonable 679,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Meanwhile, 10’s stalwart comedy show Have You Been Paying Attention? pulled 735,000 and gave its more highly-fancied rivals a nudge.

Admittedly, it couldn’t knock-off The Block that did 842,000, but it did get bragging rights over Seven’s Australia’s Got Talent that pulled 679,000. 10’s Survivor did 711,000.

Nine snuck home for a Monday night win with 28.5 per cent of the audience share. Seven had 27.3 per cent, 10 did 19.7 per cent, ABC pulled 17.6 per cent and SBS had a neat seven.

Seven’s 6pm news was the most-watched show of the evening, pulling 1.063 million. Other highlights for the network included Home And Away with 686,000, The Chase with 640,000 and The Rookie with 428,000.

10’s The Project had 472,000 and 10 News First pulled 391,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise did 268,000 to Today’s 190,000.

Nine’s standouts were its 6pm news (964,000), ACA (819,000) and Hot Seat (494,000).

The ABC’s evening ran thus: 7pm news (666,000), 7.30 (618,000), Australian Story (604,000), Four Corners (593,000), Media Watch (521,000) and Q&A (344,000).

Best for SBS was Secrets Of The Queen’s Children with 170,000.
