Monday TV Wrap: ‘Egg Boy’ Brings The Project To The Boil

Last night’s interview with Will “Egg Boy” Connolly proved a smash for The Project after it posted its best numbers since last July.

Connolly, 17, grabbed global attention after egging far-right politician Fraser Anning last week and his interview with 10’s newsy chat show bought in 574,000 viewers according to overnight OzTAM metro numbers.

Sadly for 10, it didn’t do much for its audience share, the network managing just 15.9 per cent and a fourth place.

Nine won the night with 30.9 per cent, Seven had 28.4 per cent, the ABC posted 19 per cent and SBS had 5.8 per cent.

Once again, MAFS dominated Monday with 1.315 viewers. Nine also did well with its 6pm news (873,000), ACA (828,000), Bad Mothers (480,000) and Hot Seat (465,000).

For Seven, MKR did 763,000, while its 6pm news (1.009 million), Home And Away (629,000) and The Chase (559,000) were its other notables.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (273,000) beat Today (196,000).

Over at 10, Michelle Bridge’s elimination from Dancing With The Stars bought in 464,000 viewers.

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (768,000), 7.30 (664,000), Australian Story (593,000), Four Corners (580,000), Media Watch (564,000) and Q&A (414,000).
