Monday TV Wrap: Love Island Launch Can’t Crack Half A Mill

NSW’s public holiday yesterday obviously knocked some numbers off TV audience figures yesterday with Nine’s debuting Love Island managing an okay-ish 494,000 last night as it moved from 9Gem to nine’s primary channel.

Even 10’s The Masked Singer failed to go over the million-mark for the first time. It managed a neat 700,000 and rose to 880,000 for the reveal according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Interestingly, The Block regained the ascendency, posting an impressive 979,000 on an otherwise quiet night.

That gave Nine a Monday night win with 29.3 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven had 25.5 per cent, 10 did 21.1 per cent, the ABC took 16.5 per cent and SBS pulled 7.6 per cent.

Other highlights for 10 included Have You Been Paying Attention? with 823,000 and The Project with 458,000.

Seven’s best was its 6pm news (933,000), Home And Away (638,000), The Chase (524,000) and The Real Dirty Dancing (528,000).

Nine fared well with its 6pm news (867,000), ACA (766,000), and Hot Seat (442,000).

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (635,000), 7.30 (573,000), Australian Story (559,000), Four Corners (542,000), Media Watch (468,000) and Q&A (318,000).

SBS’ best was How The Victorians Built Britain with 209,000.
